About the Tibet Project

Machik Inc. a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Tibet Project is to assist Tibetan communities, especially those in rural and semi-nomadic areas, in the following ways:
  1. To work with local communities on the Tibetan plateau to identify, develop and monitor sustainable projects that address the needs and concerns of Tibetan communities.
  2. To pursue this aim through the sectors of education, culture, economic development, the environment and capacity building.
  3. To work collaboratively with other non-profit NGOs, local government and other partners to assist Tibetans with giving voice to and actuating their goals and needs.
